Our custom Cyber Underground General Intelligence Requirements (CU-GIRs) framework is at the core of how we convert underground activity into meaningful insight. It organizes common observables across the cyber underground into a structured taxonomy of GIR categories, each with defined Essential Elements of Information (EEIs) that must be answered to fulfill the requirement.
A dedicated Collection Manager (an intelligence advocate) works with each customer to translate their business concerns into Priority Intelligence Requirements (PIRs), and map them to a specific GIR. This taxonomy allows us to steer our collection priorities and analytical output to that which will have the greatest impact on our customers’ specific environments and decision-making requirements.
Our seasoned Collections Management Team (CMT) is critical in steering intelligence collection so that outputs are tailored to each organization they serve. Each customer works with a Collection Manager who, as well as continually refining requirements against the GIR, co-ordinates requests for information (RFIs) and provides ad-hoc support to ensure our intelligence lands where and when it’s needed to directly feed into tactical, operational and strategic decision making. CMT is supported by the Intelligence Fusion Team, who help to shape raw findings into reports, briefings and updates bespoke to each customer.
To stay ahead of emerging issues, the Intelligence Operations team monitors demand signals across customers and the entire organization and internally runs dedicated Intelligence Desks that focus on key themes, events and emerging issues. From the Olympics to prolific ransomware groups, these desks are the central hubs that track and collate developments into cohesive outputs, arming customers with the intelligence against evolving threat landscape.
